We were recently asked by a major audio manufacturer to develop and manufacture a special run of custom studio acoustic products. They had to match a profile visualized by the interior designer of their new road show display. We ended up with a fantastic sounding, great looking new acoustic product. It was so good that we decided to tool up the production line and provide this product to the recording studio community at large.

Its design is a curved barrel face with beveled ends. The CoolTrap is only 12” square and just under 3” deep. It is curved in one direction and angled in another. This makes fitting them together into larger and more complicated patterns a breeze. Best of all is that the visual and sonic results from these patterns are simply amazing.

Ideal for Recording Studios

The CoolTrap can be mounted to the wall or ceiling, or both. The curved face helps to soften and diffuse excessive reverberance that can muddle soundtracks and dialog.

CoolTraps are installed on any solid surface using adhesive glue.

For an additional $80 per box of 16, a removable system is available. This system uses a centered anchor point that allows 360 degree rotation, and push-on, pull-off ease of use. The CoolTrap is covered with 100% recycled Guilford of Maine 701 fabric.

Wood Faced CoolTrap

We also created a wood faced CoolTrap which is covered with a layer of real maple, then given a lustrous urethane finish. The flat sides are absorptive foam which creates a small bass trap. These limited edition CoolTraps will compliment any recording studio with great sound and great looks. They are $49 each.
