Ambient Digital Studio with ASC Fractional TubeTraps
Acoustic
designers, audio engineers, and musicians select ASC Fractional
Half & Quarter Round Tube Traps to sculpt the acoustic
signature of rooms that require both controlled sound and
visual integrity.
The
unique and effective design of Half & Quarter Round
Tube Traps combine broadband absorption, diffusion, and
directional control of sound reflections to reduce noise
levels while maintaining room brightness and enhancing image
resolution. This design approach results in compact, modular
units that can be placed in patterns on walls, ceilings,
and in corners of any room.
Pete Townshend uses ASC Fractional TubeTraps
in his "Boathouse" sampling room. Pete
was blown away by the sound he got in that room. He wrote
the factory and told us his story. It went something like
this: “The Boathouse was so smooth that no one could
hear which fader ran the nearfield or farfield mics. They
sounded the same. For the first time ever, I had to tape
along side the faders, labeling the two mics, so my engineers
could remember which fader was the nearfield mic and which
was the ambient mic.”
Mr. Townshend was using his Fractionals
to achieve an early version of the QSF Technique.
